You could use an NFT as a way of showing membership to a club or a fan of your work. But most NFTs with minted are not created with the subscription model in mind. This is where Fabric/Hypersub comes in.
This of this as the web3 Patreon, passes expire based on time, you can gift time or grant them to people (airdrop) and more.
Paid chats are not new to web3, some web2 artist have done this for a while by using a paid Discord or Telegram group for access to a specific chat/channel. Even in the business world this exists with Intro and other tools that unlock your business network and people can pay to have a call with you or message.
The 1st in this space is Friend.tech. They have both paid chats (individual) and group chats (club). If you are really new to this, I consider watching this video.
A newcomer in this space is Alfafrens. What makes Alfafrens different from Friend.tech is that it used a new protocol called superfluid. A fancy way of saying that funds are given and taken in a fluid manner. So instead of paying for everything all at once, your funds are slowly taken out until you hit the committed amount. It also uses DEGEN for payment which is a coin on Base which is an L2 on ETH.
